Burnell’s Decor was founded in 1976 by Burnell & Paulette Hanson. The first store opend in New Richmond WI. In 1979 Burnell’s moved from New Richmond to Rice Lake and joined forces with Schellien’s Decorating. Schellien’s had been serving the Rice Lake area since the 1950′s. In 1982 Burnell’s partner James Schellien retired, Burnell bought out his portion of the business and moved it to it’s present location at 502 North Main in the Old Mason Funeral Home. Burnell’s has always been changing and trying new things form the years they partnered with Bohemian Ovens and sold bread to the candles Mary Sirek (2010 Mary completed 30 year of employment at Burnell’s and still going) to it’s latest venture with “Out There: Nordic Sports & Camping Gear”. In 2006 Bjorn & Kristin Hanson (son & daughter in-law) purchased the business. They continue to do new and different things from project on 120′ and up Mega Custom Yachts with Palmer Johnson to the small hunting cabin in the woods, and now with their newest venture “Out There” you must always be ready for something differnent at Burnell’s!
